"Are You High Right Now?"

I thought Daniel Pinchbeck's (author and psychedelics advocate) appearance on The Colbert Report last week [Part 1] [Part 2] was spot on. Generally, I cringe a little when I hear that a drug policy reformer is going to be interviewed by Colbert, O'Reilly, or similar talk show host. The whole thing can go so terribly wrong if the interviewee is not appropriately prepared for this particular kind of show. But Pinchbeck was totally poised and articulate, without taking himself too seriously. Colbert at one point in the short conversation even seemed generally interested in what he had to say about psychedelic use and consciousness expansion. Just for a second, though.
