'Never Get Busted Again'

A former narcotics officer says he's fed up with the war on drugs and is releasing a video that will teach drug users how to stay out of the criminal justice system. "Never Get Busted Again" is made by Barry Cooper, who used to do drug task force work in Texas.

According to the AP, "A promotional video says Cooper will show viewers how to 'conceal their stash,' 'avoid narcotics profiling' and 'fool canines every time.'"

Cooper says he is motivated by the desire to make people aware of their civil liberties. A DEA spokesperson says it's an obvious moneymaking scheme. I bet the truth lies somewhere in between.

The website is supposed to go live on Tuesday. My curiosity is piqued -- will it talk about how Cooper made the transition from drug enforcement agent to reformer? Will it have larger info on the war on drugs, so that people can get a sense of the policy work going on around these issues in addition to getting the practical information in the video?

Or will this whole project even make it off the ground? The DEA is looking into whether Cooper's video breaks any laws.
